LIFE AND HIS LEGACY. LOOP HAPPENS. FAMILY TELLS ME HE LIVED A FULL AND HAPPY LIFE. A LIFE HE CALLED THE AMERICAN DREAM. THEY SAY HE WAS SO GRATEFUL FOR EVERYTHING HE BUILT. HE DEDICATED EVERY DAY HERE IN BEAVER COUNTY TO GIVING BACK. AND YOU LIKE IT THAT FAMOUS LINE PITTSBURGHERS, AND YOU’RE GOING TO LIKE IT. AND LUPE HAPPENS. GRANDSONS KNOW IT WELL. THEY TELL ME THESE MOMENTS MAKE LOSING THEIR GRANDFATHER. JUST YESTERDAY A LITTLE LIGHTER. LUPE HAPPENED WAS 92, AND WHILE HE WAS BORN IN GREECE, HE MADE BEAVER COUNTY HOME, OPENING THE PAPPIN FAMILY RESTAURANT CHAIN, GIVING AWAY FREE MEALS TO THOUSANDS OF SENIOR CITIZENS. HOW SPECIAL OLYMPICS AND ALWAYS INCLUDING OTHERS, PATTON’S GRANDSONS TELL ME THAT IS WHAT MATTERED MOST PEOPLE WAS HIS BIGGEST THING. ONE LESSON THAT HE MIGHT HAVE TAUGHT ME IS THAT PEOPLE MATTER MOST. HE SAID HE WANTED TO DIE A LOVED MAN, NOT A RICH MAN. AND HE WAS DEFINITELY A LOVED MAN. PATTON’S GRANDSONS TELL ME THEY ARE TOUCHED BY HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE REACHED OUT WITH MEMORIES OF THEIR GRANDFATHER EITHER. LUPE HAPPENS FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING HANDLED BY THE GEBAUER FUNERAL HOME HERE IN BEAVER COUNTY
