A CHURCH IN EAST PALESTINE HAS AGREED TO BE THE SITE TO HOST THAT CLINIC WHICH OPENS TOMORROW. WE SPOKE TO THE CHURCH THIS MORNING AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE THE SPACE FOR IT AND THEIR NEIGHBORS ARE IN NEED OF HELP. SOMETIMES IT JUST HELPS TO GET CHECKED OUT. IT HELPS WITH PEOPLE’S EASE OF MIND IF THEY CAN SEE A DOCTOR AND SAY, OKAY, THIS IS WHAT I’M FEELING. THE FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST WILL BE THE SITE HOSTING THE CLINIC. OHIO’S HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAYS THEY’LL HAVE REGISTERED NURSES AND MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALISTS ON HAND. THERE WILL BE TWO ASSESSMENT ROOMS INSIDE THE CHURCH AND A MOBILE UNIT AS WELL. WE HAVE THE CLINIC HOURS POSTED ON OUR WEB SITE, WTAE. HERE ARE THE NUMBERS TO CALL TO SET UP APPOINTMENTS. LINES OPENED UP THIS MORNING. STATE OFFICIALS ARE URGING ANYONE WITH QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS TO REACH OUT. AND WE’VE HEARD FROM PLENTY OF FOLKS WHO CONTINUE TO BE CONCERNED. ONE MAN THIS WEEKEND TOLD OUR CREW HE’S HAD DIZZY SPELLS AND HEADACHES SINCE THE DERAILMENT. BUT EPA OFFICIALS HAVE SAID THE AIR AND WATER IN THE AREA ARE SAFE. THE CHURCH, THOUGH, THANKFUL FOR THE SUPPORT ITS COMMUNITY HAS RECEIVED SINCE. EVERYBODY HAS SAID THAT THEY’RE GOING TO STICK AROUND FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE TO TO REMEDIATE AND TO MAKE THE TOWN WHOLE AGAIN. AND I HAVE TO HOLD THEM AT THEIR WORD FOR RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE I HAVE TO HAVE FAITH IN THAT. THE CHURCH IS ALSO URGING NEIGHBORS WHO MIGHT NEED HELP TO REACH OUT. THEY SAY THEY HAVE PLENTY OF FOOD, WATER, CLOTHING AND MORE.
